When to Visit

Open for guests during the Patagonian summer season: January, February, and March.

How many guests can stay?

The estancia can accommodate up to 12 guests across 6 double bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom.

Trip duration

Guests are welcome to stay anytime during the summer season, with a minimum stay of 6 nights.

Climate and Weather

Daytime temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C, while nights cool down to 10°C–15°C.

HOW TO GET HERE

Estancia El Porvenir is located in northern Patagonia, just outside the town of San Martín de los Andes, Argentina.

Most guests travel through Buenos Aires, which has two main airports:

1. Ezeiza International Airport 
For international arrivals.

2. Jorge Newbery Domestic Airport
For domestic connections to Patagonia.

From Buenos Aires, you can fly directly to:

3. Chapelco Airport — the closest airport to the estancia, located 5 minutes away by car.

THE PACKING LIST

When packing for your visit, consider lightweight and breathable clothing for daytime activities, along with a light jacket and a sweater for the cooler evenings.

It is also wise to bring sun protection, such as hats and sunscreen, to shield yourself from the bright sun.

If you plan to explore the outdoors or participate in activities like hiking or horseback riding, comfortable footwear is essential. For overnight stays under the stars, a sleeping bag is a must to ensure a cozy and memorable experience.

THE WEATHER

At Estancia El Porvenir, the summers are typically hot and sunny, characterized by mostly clear skies and a gentle breeze throughout the day. In contrast, winters can be quite cold, windy, and may experience heavy snowfall in the nearby mountains.

During the summer months (January to March), you can expect comfortable and warm temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C during sunny days. Nights tend to be cooler, with temperatures dropping to around 10°C to 15°C. The average rainfall during summer is less than 100mm, making it a predominantly dry climate, often accompanied by afternoon winds.

Ride our calm, well-trained Criollo horses with experienced guides through valleys, hills, and rivers.

Cabins

Additional remote cabins are available for overnight stays during longer rides and excursions on the property.

The Estancia offers excellent trout fishing, and guests are permitted to fish freely on our private stretches of rivers.
